aka Nicaragua palm oil aka American palm oil
INCI Elaeis Oleifera kernel oil
A beauty for the hair - so Dr google says. We havent seen any clinical results that support many of the claims made about batana oil but it has delicious fatty acid profile so there a good chance that it will support development of lustrous locks. The South American have been sold on this for centuries.
Extraction - Batana kernels are heated to liquefy the paste and the oil is then fractionated to separate the lighter from the heavier components. The resulting fraction contains higher proportions of the liquid unsaturated fatty acids and lower proportions of solid saturated fatty acids,
Heralded for its ability to nourish the hair and scalp, it refreshes hair that has been damaged by exposure to UV, pollution, hair dyes or other chemical treatments.
You will read some testimonials on the web that it makes the hair feel nourished and lustrous.
Our stock is from Nicaragua. As this becomes more popular you will see different origins (including China). While this is a fractionated oil it retains the colour of the nuts -green/brown - there is also some product coming on the market now which has been decolourised resulting in a yellow-ish colour.
